Anti-corruption frameworks in public administration

Today, at 12.15 PM, in room 3 at Palazzo La Sapienza, a seminar on Anti-corruption Frameworks in Public Administration Between European and Italian Law will be held as part of the ProStEUVa project.

The seminar will be chaired and moderated by Dr. Giulia Battaglia and Dr. Matteo Trapani, both researchers in constitutional and public law at the University of Pisa. Dr. Trapani is also a member of the ProStEUVa teaching staff.

Michele D’Avino, Secretary General of the Municipality of Livorno, will be the guest speaker, offering a practical perspective on the implementation of anti-corruption policies at the local government level. Students will gain an overview of the national and supranational frameworks for combating corruption, including the United Nations Convention against Corruption and the GRECO recommendations. Against this background, European and Italian anti-corruption frameworks will be framed within three key aspects: the organizational context, the subjective dynamics of those involved, and the role of civil society in fostering a culture of legality, with reference to the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), which emphasizes the importance of transparency, integrity, and accountability in the management of public funds, reinforcing the need for robust anti-corruption policies at all levels of government. Concluding remarks will be delivered by Prof. Andrea Pertici, who is also part of the ProStEUVa teaching staff.

The seminar marks the final in-depth session on the European Union organised as part of the Local Government Law and the Regional Law courses, following a lecture on the Committee of the Regions and and a discussion on the management of European funds.
